Lecture by Lois Gibbs, executive director, Center for Health,
Environment, and Justice. In 1978, Gibbs learned that her neighborhood
was built atop a 20,000-ton nuclear dump. She organized her neighbors
and eventually persuaded the government to relocate 833 families.
