Five Trustees Join MHC's Board Karen M. Hendricks '76, Brian T. Keane, Leslie Anne Miller
'73, Anthony S. Ocepek, and Avery B. Ouellette '98 (young
alumna trustee) have joined Mount Holyoke's board of trustees.
The new board members were on campus last weekend. Brian T. Keane is the chief executive officer of Keane, Inc., a firm
that helps companies plan, build, and manage application software
to achieve business advantage. He earned his undergraduate degree
cum laude from Harvard University in 1983 and went on to earn an M.B.A.
degree from Harvard Business School in 1987. His wife, Elizabeth Furnivall
Keane '84, and his mother-in-law, former trustee Patricia Crane
Furnivall '50, have also made many contributions to the Mount
Holyoke community over the years. Leslie Anne Miller '73 is a partner at McKissock & Hoffman,
P.C. in Philadelphia. She received her A.B. degree cum laude from
Mount Holyoke, her J.D. degree from the Dickinson School of Law in
1977, and her LL.M. with honors from Temple University School of Law.
A former president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Miller has
served in a variety of positions in a number of legal professional
associations. Miller also serves as director of the boards of the
Philadelphia Public Broadcasting System, the Philadelphia Regional
Performing Arts Center, the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation,
and the Pennsylvania Legal Services Corporation. She is a member of
the board of the Pennsylvania Ballet and of the Academy of Music.
Miller joins the Mount Holyoke board as an alumna trustee. Anthony Ocepek is currently chairman of Riverside No. 2 Ventures,
LLC. He is co-CEO of GeoVideo Networks, Inc., and was previously senior
vice president of OmniAmerica, Inc., which merged with American Tower
Corporation in 1999. In addition to his broadcasting and communications
business involvement, Ocepek is a partner and financial coordinator
of OWO Investments, the developers of the Heisley Center Corporate
and Industrial Park. He has been active in many service and business
organizations and was a director of Lake County National Bank and
Bank One of Northeastern Ohio, Citizen Savings and Loan Company, Lake
County Development Corporation, Lake County Historical Society, and
the Corporate Board of the Holden Arboretum. He is currently active
in a number of business and trade organizations and was a former trustee
of the Lake County Parks Foundation and Phillips-Osborne School. Ocepek,
a 1961 graduate of Kent State University, lives with his wife, Margaret
Benes Ocepek '66, and their three children in Palm Beach, Florida. Avery B. Ouellette '98 begins a three-year term as the new young alumna trustee. Ouellette, who received her degree in international relations magna cum laude, is a research assistant for the National Center for Economic and Security Alternatives in Washington, D.C., where she provides research for projects with a particular focus on gender and community development and assists with the preparation of the center's documents. In her senior year, Ouellette was president of the Student Government Association and worked in the Weissman Center for Leadership. As a student, she was active in Model UN and participated in the youth caucus of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. |
