WFCR
(88.5 FM), public radio for western New England and a National
Public Radio (NPR) affiliate, will present "Saturday at the
Opera" with Connecticut Opera Express on Saturday, November
9, in Mary Woolley Hall's Chapin Auditorium. The Hartford-based
company, the touring company of Connecticut Opera, will offer
two performances. At 11 am, Connecticut Opera Express will perform
The Three Little Pigs, a musical dramatization of the popular
children's classic, featuring music by Mozart from The
Magic Flute, Cosi fan Tutte, and Don Giovanni. The
Three Little Pigs is recommended for elementary school audiences.
At 2 pm, the company will present OperaTunities, a musical introduction
to opera's greatest hits with popular arias, duets, and ensembles,
and some audience participation. OperaTunities will be enjoyed
by audiences of all ages. Mount Holyoke is sponsoring both performances;
proceeds will benefit the programs and services of WFCR.
Connecticut Opera

its resident artists have been presenting education and outreach
