Attention,
Poets Mount Holyoke will host the next Five College
Student Poetryfest on March 2. Each school will choose two of
its student poets to participate, and a commemorative booklet
will be published by the Five Colleges. If you would like to
be one of two Mount Holyoke students presenting their work at
this special poetry reading, please submit two copies of five
poems. Address them to Professor Mary Jo Salter, English Department.
The deadline for submissions is November 30.
Glee Club Origami Workshop On Sunday, November 21, the MHC Glee
Club will be hosting an Origami Workshop from 1 to 4 pm in the
Blanchard Great Room. Come learn how to make paper cranes, message
balls, paper boxes, and much more. The entry fee is only $4 (including
4 sheets of paper). Additional paper will be on sale in the Great
Room. Please come support the Glee Club. This will be a great
time to make Christmas presents and have fun with friends.
Holiday Joy on Brand New CD Christmas
Vespers Through the Years, Volume Three has just been released. (Volumes one and two are
now sold out.) This is a beautiful anthology of some of the best
selections from Vespers 1995–2003: live performances by
Glee Club, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Orchestra, Voices
of Faith, V-8s, handbells, organ, brass, and congregational carols.
The music is particularly diverse and multicultural. Price: $16
(includes tax).
The CDs are available from any member of Glee Club. They’re
also on sale in Blanchard, and in the music department office.
Proceeds benefit the Choral Music Fund, which provides scholarships
to students on tours away from campus (such as Glee Club and
V-8s’ Nashville trip in January 2005). For more information,
call x2018.
