New Gazebo and Holiday Stroll to Come to South Hadley's Common

In the next few weeks, a new gazebo will grace South Hadley's town common to commemorate the town's 250th anniversary. "South Hadley's 250th anniversary celebration has combined a multitude of exciting and wonderful events since January for residents of all ages," said cochair of the commemorative structure committee Linda Young, senior administrative assistant in biological sciences. "The commemorative structure will be the culmination of these activities and a lasting tribute for our residents."

MHC community members are encouraged to lend a hand this weekend, November 22–23, 9 am-3 pm, for any time period that they can help with the gazebo's construction. Town officials need to finish the base and flooring for the Holiday Stroll December 5, and will complete the roof after that. Volunteers are also needed to help provide food—coffee and donuts in the morning and soup and sandwiches for lunch.

The fifteenth annual Holiday Stroll festivities will start at 5:30 pm, with Santa arriving in a horse-drawn sleigh at 6:10 pm. Bands, carolers, and clowns will add to the fun. The 250th committee will sell commemorative ornaments and take orders for commemorative books.
