December Deadlines for Financial Aid for Off-Campus Study
(Laurel Fellowships)

Mount Holyoke offers the Laurel Fellowships for Off-Campus Study for students whose financial resources are not sufficient to cover the cost of study abroad or participation in one of the designated United States programs with which the College is affiliated. The deadlines to apply for all or part of the 2002–2003 academic year (including spring 2003) are December 7 for study abroad, the American University Washington Semester Program, Columbia University’s Biosphere 2 Center, and the Woods Hole Marine Biological Laboratory Semester in Environmental Science Program, and December 14 for the Twelve College Exchange. All aid is for semester or academic-year study, except for the Ruth Sedgwick Scholarship, which may be used for summer study or an internship in Spain or Spanish America. Laurel Fellowships are the only financial aid offered by MHC for study away; all students who expect to need assistance for study away must submit an application for the Laurel Fellowship even if they are applying to a program or exchange for which a fellowship is guaranteed. Additional information and forms are available in the study abroad library, third floor, Mary Lyon, and on the Web at www.mtholyoke.edu/offices/ia/studyabroad/index.shtml.
