While there are recurring themes in each academic year at Mount Holyoke--convocations, orientation, M & Cs, Mountain Day, exam periods, Founder's Day, Mary Lyon Lectures, and commencement, to name a few--each fall begins a new year that will be distinctive for plots with unique twists and for chapters filled with intriguing characters. A year that began on the heels of unrealized Y2K anarchy and concluded during the first half of the much-anticipated new millennium, 2000-2001 was a success story that deserves retelling.
