Five College Coastal & Marine Sciences Fund

$500 awards for juniors and seniors for research-oriented expenses for projects during the academic year and for support for presenting papers, attending conferences, meetings and workshops. May not be used for January or March field courses. Applications for spring semester due November 15; applications for fall 1996 due April 1.

Seniors with Scottish Ancestry

Preliminary deadline is November 15 for the St. Andrews awards to study in Scotland in 1996-1997. Sarah Beattie '95 is currently studying in Edinburgh on a $13,000 award.

Minority NIH Internships

Minority (U.S. citizens or permanent residents) internships at National Institutes of Health (NIH) for paid Biomedical Research Program. Deadline is November 17.

Scripps Howard Foundation Scholarship Grant

For U.S. citizens who will be full-time juniors in 1996-1997: large awards for students seeking careers in journalism (print or broadcast media). Must have demonstrated financial need. Request applications before December 20--strongly recommended to request application in November.

Horace Smith Fund/Walter S. Barr Donation

For residents of Hampden County, MA, who have or are about to graduate from college. $2,000 minimum award. Request applications now.
