The Mount Holyoke College Faculty Dance Concert will present an eclectic evening of dance. Enjoy an excerpt from the classical ballet "Paquita" staged by Rose Marie Flachs; a modern dance piece and duet choreographed by Jim Coleman; a West African dance by Marilyn Middleton; and works by Adrienne Hawkins and Felice Wolfzahn. The Committee on the Multiracial Community has requested the names of three staff members interested in serving on the committee. The committee meets every two weeks from 4 PM to 6 PM Tuesdays.
The committee's goal is to create a community that cherishes individual differences and serves the intellectual, educational, and social needs of its members regardless of social, ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds.

Request forms for room changes for second semester are available in the Office of Residential Life. Students can request a room or hall change. Requests filed last semester are no longer valid. Completed forms are due in the Office of Residential Life by 5 PM on Friday, December 15. Any request received after December 15 will not be considered. The Office of Residential Life will not know which rooms will become available until January. Written notification of granted and ungranted requests will be made in January. To protect each student's privacy, individual requests will not be discussed over the telephone.
If you wish to enroll in a limited enrollment course (see list in spring registration supplement), please pick up an application form at the English department, 201 Clapp Laboratory. You will be notified about whether or not you have been accepted into the course within two weeks of the close of registration.

You will have the opportunity to submit senior gift ideas at the polling tables in Blanchard Campus Center November 14-15 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Students interested in enrolling in any section of D105, Introduction To Cultural Anthropology, must sign an enrollment sheet in the department office, 103 Merrill House. Anyone failing to follow this procedure will be dropped from the course. All enrolled students must attend the first class meeting to remain in the section.
Kathy Schofield '70, an advertising executive from Baltimore, will talk to interested students about advertising and getting into the field on Monday, November 13. She will speak in 202 Dwight Hall on the topic "How Does a Major in Art History Become an Advertising Executive?" from 12:15 to 2:00 PM, and on "Changing Images of Women in Advertising," from 4 to 5 PM. Schofield is a senior vice president and account director at Doner Direct, the direct marketing subsidiary of W.B. Doner & Co.
Schofield graduated from Mount Holyoke with a degree in art and received her MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. She began her advertising career at Leo Burnett in Chicago.
Before leaving for November break it is important for all students to:
1. Obtain the trunk room key from the head resident(s) for needed belongings. Trunk room keys are only available through the head residents. Please plan ahead.
2. Close windows and storm windows securely.
3. Lock rooms and closets.
4. Disconnect all appliances.
5. Turn on all radiators.
6. Empty wastebaskets into central trash containers.
7. Recycle materials in central location.
8. Return dishes to the dining room.
9. Place bicycles indoors and in proper storage areas.
Residence halls will close at noon Wednesday, November 22, and reopen at noon Sunday, November 26. Students found in closed halls will be relocated and charged $10 per day. The only halls open during recess will be Abbey, Brigham, Buckland, Ham, North and South Rockefeller, North and South Mandelle, and Torrey. Dickinson House and Pearsons Annex will remain open for residents of these halls only.
Students residing in open halls who plan to leave for recess are asked to consider lending their rooms to other students who must stay on campus. If you are willing to lend your room, notify residential life at x2088.
All residents planning to remain on campus during the break, including those who live in open halls, must register in advance. Students having difficulty finding a place to stay should contact residential life for assistance. Registration forms will be available November 6 in the Office of Residential Life, and must be returned to the office no later than Monday, November 20. The purpose of registration is to help ensure student safety and to locate students in case of emergency.
Please note that during November recess all buildings, including student rooms, will be inspected for safety violations beginning Wednesday, November 22, at 9 AM. If you would like your room inspected after noon, please post a note on your room door.
Students must comply with the fire-safety rules on pages 32-33 in the residential life "Live and Learn" booklet. Posters pinned to the walls or hung from moldings are within regulations and need not be removed.
Additional information will be sent to students who register for the break period.
The Human Resources Advisory Council (HRAC) task force invites the entire community to attend an open forum on Thursday, November 16. Join us in the New York Room, Mary Woolley Hall, from 1:30 to 2:30 PM or 4 to 5 PM.
The HRAC task force will present to the community a report on its work in reviewing the role, structure, and membership of the HRAC. Before we finalize our recommendations to senior staff for a new structure, we welcome your response.
