What a grand piano--In January, a twelve-year-old Bösendörfer B200 grand piano had its debut on campus, played by Gary Steigerwalt, associate professor of music. The instrument was manufactured in Austria and belonged to Elizabeth D. Schumacker '26; her daughter Margaret Scott arranged for the College to receive it last fall. Now in the Warbeke Room, one of two concert facilities in Pratt Hall, the piano will be played by both students and faculty. Steigerwalt deems the piano a wonderful gift to the music department because its warm tone is perfectly suited to the acoustics and intimate surroundings of the Warbeke Room.
