College Hosts Equestrian Competition

Wynatte Chu '99 rides "Otter" in show jumping competition at the USA '96 Student Riders Nations Cup, held on campus July 9-15. In the first Nations Cup to be held in the United States in five years, the College hosted sixty top student riders from ten European countries. The United States was represented by two MHC women--Amy Spatz '96 and Chu--and Terry Stevens, a student at Temple University. That team won the most points in this international competition. A July article in Town & Country magazine said MHC had "hands-down ... the finest East Coast facilities" for student equestrians, something that undoubtedly played a part in selecting the College for the Nations Cup.
