Trustee Meeting to Focus on Planning Document

The board of trustees' fall meeting, to be held on campus November 8 and 9, will focus primarily on planning. President Creighton said she will share with trustees comments received from students, faculty, and staff. Trustees will discuss these comments, and the evolving initial draft of The Plan for Mount Holyoke College 2003 circulated on campus last month, over the weekend.

This meeting will also be the first under the board's reorganized structure. Creighton said the trustees have created a new group of standing committees after several meetings at which they discussed the ideal structure within which to operate. Other committees have been consolidated, giving more responsibility to each group. Committees will meet for shorter but more intense sessions, leaving more time in trustees' schedules for meetings of the full board.
