The Mary Lyon Legacy Program, which debuted this fall, has been so successful that it will be extended to include alumnae clubs as well as current students. The program helps students (and, soon, alumnae) to encourage prospective students to apply to MHC by passing on a special certificate waiving the applica- tion fee.
Certificates, which went out to current students in October, have been picked up by more than 70 percent of students overall, and by 82 percent of first-year students. Nearly 250 certificates have already been mailed to prospectives. Although the final application deadline isn't until January 15, students are encouraged to send their certificates early to give prospective students plenty of time to complete their applications.
Under the expanded program, each of the approximately ninety active alumnae clubs will receive at least one certificate apiece to award to a prospective student, according to Alumnae Association executive director Sally Lemaire '68.
