Pride in Diversity

<<< Under a rainbow arch symbolizing diversity, ombudsperson Rochelle Calhoun addresses about 300 people gathered November 14 to protest homophobia and support lesbian, bisexual, and gay rights. She was just one of many administrators and students who spoke out during the rally, at which participants also raised the rainbow "diversity flag" on the College flagpole, listened to Nice Shoes, and left flowers and rainbow ribbon decorating Mary Lyon's grave. Organizers called the rally "a community-building action" to "assure a safe and welcoming place in our community for all people, uphold the statement of community responsibilities and rights at MHC, and instill pride in being part of a diverse community."
