"The draft Plan for Mount Holyoke College 2003 released in September has evoked, as we hoped it would, much comment," said President Joanne Creighton at the December 4 faculty meeting. Letters, emails, meetings of students and faculty, all-campus forums, and innumerable less formal discussions of the draft later, "We're ready to synthesize what we've learned and to add sections to the draft that we've developed separately," Creighton said.
She and the Educational Priorities Committee (EPC) have begun to recast the document into one with more narrative sections. They hope to have the next complete draft ready for campus comment by the beginning of spring semester. That draft, Creighton explained, is likely to address four questions: "Where Are We?", "Where Are We Going?", "How Do We Get There?", and "How Will We Assess Our Progress?"
Trustees are expected to discuss and act upon a final plan at their May meeting.
