MHC Donations Help Shelter Residents Sleep in Comfort

Residents of Womanshelter/Compañeras should sleep a little more comfortably, thanks to the generosity of MHC employees. According to senior administrative assistant Rosemary Jackson, twelve cartons full of sleepwear were donated at Winterfest for the residents of the Holyoke-based battered women's shelter.

Womanshelter/Compañeras development coordinator Kimberly Miller wrote a letter thanking MHC employees and the Winterfest Committee for the donations and wishing the MHC community happy holidays. Her letter read, in part, "We would like to thank all of those who donated pajamas, nightgowns, slippers, robes, and other items. Sleepwear is an essential, much needed, and often forgotten item as a woman and her children try to escape a domestic violence situation. The Winterfest celebration was a perfect touch to the holiday season."
