"Love yourself"--That was the message Essence magazine editor Susan Taylor shared with an appreciative campus audience on February 5. The opening speaker of Black History Month events, Taylor said people should be good to themselves, because "you can't fill anyone else's cup until you fill your own."

Batwoman Returns

Barbora Somogyiova '99 looked up from her homework one evening last week to see this surprise visitor clinging to the inside of her South Rockefeller Hall window. Luckily, she recalled that Madeleine Rowan '00 had spent three summers scientifically studying bats, and called her for advice on handling the furry flier. Rowan, who has been vaccinated for rabies, removed the bat (which she identified as an Eptesicus fuscus, a "big brown") and fed it worms until it was strong enough to be released outside.
