Mary Lyon Lecture Series Begins This Sunday

Noted journalist Charlayne Hunter-Gault will open the Mary Lyon Lecture Series this Sunday with a talk about her experiences in the civil rights movement on Sunday, February 16 at 7:30 pm in Chapin Auditorium. She is a national correspondent for The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, and also made civil rights history in 1962 as the first African American woman to graduate from the University of Georgia.

Future speakers in the series (mark your calendars now!) include American Civil Liberties Union president Nadine Strossen (March 27); Faye Wattleton, author and former president of Planned Parenthood (September 30); and nationally recognized educator Lorraine Monroe, principal of Frederick Douglass Academy High School in New York City (October 16).
