Conserving the conservatory

The conservatory section of the College greenhouses is undergoing a complete renovation this spring and summer. New wood and iron pieces will replace rotted and rusted parts, plumbing and heating systems will be modernized, and the structure will be fitted with new glass and repainted. Renovations to the conservatory, which is believed to have been built in 1899, are expected to continue at least through August.

Blue-light special, anyone?

Senior Aleida Sanabria performs an original piece about K-Mart at the annual Flor de Mayo celebration on campus, which also featured readings by Puerto Rican-Dominican poet Sandra María Esteves and representatives from MHC, UMass, and Amherst College.
