Beginning Monday, June 2, and continuing through Friday, August 22, summer hours will be in effect for Mount Holyoke offices.
The core office hours will be 8:30 am-4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and all offices must be fully staffed during these hours. Full-time employees will continue to work 7.5 hours a day; therefore, individuals may choose to start work at 7:30 am, 8 am, or 8:30 am and work through 4 pm, 4:30 pm, or 5 pm depending on whether they choose a thirty- or sixty- minute lunch break. Schedules may be flexible and are encouraged in order to meet individual employee preferences and the needs of the department.
You may want to include these summer hours on any publications/communications that are sent by your department to the campus community or to outside constituents.
New exhibit on Level 4, Williston Building of LITS: "MHC and the World of Books" from May 16 through June 30.
A few summer programs have generously offered scholarships to the children of faculty and staff. Scholarship participants will participate on a commuter basis and will not be housed overnight. Particular daily schedules should be discussed with the camp director.
Due to a limited availability for the programs listed below, all scholarships will be chosen by lottery. We will notify you of the results shortly thereafter. If interested, please come to the conference office at Willits-Hallowell and pick up a program description/application. Completed applications are due at the conference office at Willits-Hallowell by 2 pm Friday, May 30.
The following programs will be offering scholarships this summer:
A maximum of five nonboarding scholarships per week will be offered for weeks beginning June 15, June 22, and June 29. Ages 8-21 are welcome. Participants must be able to keep score and to serve. A $25 luncheon fee is required of all scholarship winners. Full salad bar, entree, dessert, and beverage included daily.
Scholarships are available for the week of August 17 only. Ages 7-18 welcome. Participants must have at least three months of previous gymnastics experience. A $55 lunch and dinner fee is required of all scholarship winners. Full salad bar, entree, dessert, and beverage included daily. To stay overnight for the gymnastics camp, the fee for room and board is $85. Advanced notice of overnight stay is required.
A scholarship is being offered for the August 3-5 workshop. Participants should be in their junior year of high school and on the yearbook committee in their school. A $15 luncheon fee is required. Full salad bar, entree, dessert, and beverage included daily.
Two scholarships are being offered for sessions I and II, one scholarship per week. The first session (July 6-11) is for girls, and the second session (July 13-18) is for boys. Girls and boys ages 10-18, at the intermediate and advanced level, are welcome. Everyone will be taught the same program, but competition groupings will be based on age, level of competition, and playing experience. A $25 luncheon fee is required of both scholarship winners. Full salad bar, entree, dessert, and beverage included daily.
The College Street Journal publishes every two weeks during the summer.

In the May 16 CSJ article on employee benefits, the last sentence in the "holidays" section should have read "There will continue to be 11.5 paid holidays scheduled for fiscal year 1997-98."
