Employees Save Money on Insurance; You Can Too
No matter what you pay for auto and home insurance, the College can probably help you pay less. The human resources office won't pay your premiums, but has some advice that may nonetheless lower your insurance bills.
Mount Holyoke has established a group insurance plan with Remillard Insurance Agency, Inc., that provides 15 percent off auto insurance and 10 percent off homeowner's insurance to any employee not already in another group insurance plan. Additional discounts are offered for a safe driver credit (10 percent) and if you have both auto and home policies through Remillard (5 percent).
Many of the fifty-three employees already signed up with Remillard switched from another company after learning how much money they'd save. A quick poll of this group revealed these savings: Director of public safety Paul Ominsky saved about $80 on his car insurance. Associate professor of environmental sciences Aaron Ellison and administrative assistant in the registrar's office Cecile Vasquez each saved $250 on their car insurance policies. Assistant director of human resources Lorraine Gendron saved more than $300 on her home and car insurance combined. Associate director of the CDC Cate Masiello Shaw saved nearly as much and commented that she and her partner "found Remillard very easy and accommodating to work with."
To find out if you can save money, fax (413-538-7179) Remillard a copy of your current insurance policies. The agency will give you a free estimate of your bill. You can also phone Remillard at 538-7862 or 800-595-8262.
