Mount Holyoke Alumnae Fellowships for Seniors

Graduating seniors are eligible to apply for the Mount Holyoke Alumnae Fellowships. These fellowships are awarded for independent projects, graduate work, and professional schools. Approximately twenty to twenty-five awards are given each year, with amounts ranging between $1,000 and $3,000, with one award of $7,500 given to the overall best candidate. Applications are available in 101 Mary Woolley Hall. The application deadline is February 15, 1998.

Employees: Learn "The Art of Investing"

The Human Resources department has available for loan a video by TIAA-CREF on "The Art of Investing." This hour-long teleconference originally aired live on October 28, 1997. It focuses on the basic investment principles that can help individuals build long-term security and make the most of their retirement plans and other financial products. Moderated by ABC News correspondent Deborah Roberts, the program features the expert insights of the following panelists: Chris Farrell, senior economics and business editor, Minnesota Public Radio, and economics editor of Sound Money; Martin Liebowitz, vice chairman & chief investment officer, TIAA-CREF; Jane Bryant Quinn, financial planning expert, columnist, and author of Making the Most of Your Money; James Tobin, 1981 Nobel laureate in economics, Yale University; Jerry Farley, president, Washburn University, and past chair of NACUBO; and Rochelle Cummings, assistant vice president of TIAA-CREF. Employees can contact the human resources office to sign the video out.
