On February 15, the class of 1998 will celebrate "senior survival night" by discussing with recent alumnae what life after MHC is like, and de-stressing with a ninety-eight-days-till-graduation party.
Alythea McKinney '90, young alumna member of the Classes and Reunion Committee, will moderate a question-and-answer panel discussion among seniors and recent graduates about what it's truly like "out there, in the real world."
Panelists include Amy Ferarro '95, a politics major and religion minor now working as a child welfare research associate for Boston's Public Consulting Group, Inc.; Gina Giachetti '95, a theater major and English minor currently an account coordinator for the Hoffman Agency in San Jose, California; Elsa Londono '96, a psychology major now working as program coordinator for the Springfield YWCA; and Rina Raichada '97, a biochemistry major who is now a first-year student at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston.
At the event, which is coordinated by the Alumnae Association, seniors will also receive packets of information about practical matters including personal and business networking, job hunting, finding and moving into an apartment, personal safety, handling personal finances, and Alumnae Association services.
According to Alanna Boyd, president of the senior class, the class of 1998 will "let loose" after the panel discussion with a party featuring a WMHC disk jockey.
