Directing Law and Order You just never know where a Mount Holyoke connection will surface. Eagle-eyed viewer Cynthia J. Morrell '68, senior administrative assistant in physics, was watching the long-running NBC crime drama Law and Order and noticed that the episode was directed by Gloria Muzio. She figured it had to be the same person as our 1975 alumna, who's also known as a Broadway stage director.

Grants granted At the February faculty meeting, three grants to the College were announced. The Thomas Anthony Pappas Charitable Foundation, Inc., has awarded MHC $10,000 for the financial aid endowment program, to help students from Massachusetts. The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has made a grant of $30,000 to MHC for Andrew Lass's project with the Czech CASLIN Union Catalogue. And an anonymous foundation has made a $1,000 unrestricted grant to the College.

In memoriam William T. Scott died February 6 at the age of fifty one. He worked for thirty-three years as an electrician at Mount Holyoke. Scott attended South Hadley schools, graduated from Holyoke Trade School, and served for six years with the Army National Guard. He leaves his wife, three sons, and two grandchildren.
