Housewarming Students gather on the steps of the new cultural/community center at 15 Woodbridge Street. It is the new home to the international students' Intercultural Community Center and to an as-yet-unnamed cultural center serving the Asian and Asian American student community. The sign on the door reads "Welcome to our cultural house."

White House honor Professor of Chemistry Sheila Browne (fifth to the right of the president) stands with President Bill Clinton and some of the other recipients of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring. Browne received the award September 10 at a White House ceremony.
