Film Taxi Blues by Pavel Lounguine. This was Lounguine's first feature and is a fierce critique of contemporary Soviet society one year before its collapse. Faculty Dance Concert In recognition of the Five College Dance Department's 20th anniversary, alumnae Abigail Yager '92, Liz Hallmark '83, and Sara Sweet, Smith MFA '98 join Mount Holyoke faculty members and guest artist Pamela Raff in this exceptional evening of dance. Yager and Hallmark appear as choreographers and performers, and Sweet has created a new modern work, "Inclement," using the talent of students from the Five College Dance Department. Professors Jim Coleman and Terese Freedman and Charles and Rose Flachs are premiering works, in the modern and classical ballet realms, respectively. Peter Anastos, a choreographer and teacher from New York City, has set an excerpt from his ballet "Footage" to be performed. As an added feature on Thursday and Friday evenings, the concert presents a collaboration between Pamela Raff, visiting artist in jazz tap dance, and Allen Bonde, professor of music.
