Do You Use Technology in Your Classroom? The Curriculum Support and Instructional Technology (CSIT) team is gearing up for the spring 2000 semester. In order to provide faculty with service and support for their technology needs, CSIT is requesting information from MHC faculty. The Spring 2000 Technology Needs Survey is being distributed. Please take a few minutes to think of how CSIT can help address your technology needs for the spring semester. You can submit the survey via the Web at http://www.mtholyoke.edu/lits/csit/techneeds.html. Alternatively, CSIT liaisons will be emailing the form, as well as sending paper copies, to departmental administrators. Please use your preferred method of communication. If you have any questions about this process, email the CSIT liaisons at CSIT@mtholyoke.edu or contact your liaison directly. The LITS/CSIT liaisons list is available at http://www.mtholyoke.edu/lits/about/allliaisons.html
STUDENTS
Extensions/Incompletes Faculty legislation stipulates that "an instructor may report a student's work as incomplete only if the student has been given an excuse by the director of the health center or the dean of the College because of an emergency." This means that instructors may not accept exams, or papers due in lieu of exams, after noon on Wednesday, December 22, unless authorized by the director of the health center for medical reasons, or one of the academic deans in the dean of the College's office for unforeseen emergencies. All other course work must be turned in by the last day of classes. The deadline for students to request an extension because of incomplete work is Tuesday, December 22, at noon.
Mount Holyoke Alumnae Fellowships for Seniors Graduating seniors are eligible to apply for Mount Holyoke Alumnae Fellowships. These fellowships are awarded for independent projects, graduate work and professional schools. Approximately twenty awards are given each year, in amounts ranging between $1,000 and $3,000--with one award of $7,500 given to the overall best candidate. Applications are available in room 101, Mary Woolley Hall, or by contacting Karen Griffin at x2653 or kgriffin@mtholyoke.edu. The application deadline is February 15, 2000.
Attention January
Interns December 10 is the deadline to submit your student
registration form to the Career Development Center to register for
your January Internship. Submitting on time is necessary to consider
your internship for transcript notation. There are two remaining
"Internship: Evaluation and Success" meetings left. Don't miss them!
These meetings are designed to help you have an excellent and
well-coordinated internship experience. If you are unable to attend
one of the meetings, don't forget to pick up your evaluation packet
at the Career Development Center before you leave campus. Good
luck to all of you who are completing internships around the globe in
January. The Mount Holyoke community will be excited to hear about
your experiences upon your return to campus in January. For those of
you doing internships in Boston and New York City, watch your campus
mailboxes for invitations to receptions with area alumnae and your
sponsors during January. As soon as these dates are confirmed with
the alumnae clubs, these invitations will be distributed to both you
and your cooperating sponsor. The Prescheduled Examination
Schedule published in last week's CSJ contained two errors.
