• The College increased its admission selectivity, lowering its admit rate from 64 percent two years ago to 55 percent for the class of 2004.
  • MHC's Office of Communications recently produced a new admission viewbook based on market research conducted by the College's institutional research office.
  • This year, for the first time, applicants to the College could apply via the Web. Current students can now access their grades and transcripts online.
  • Newspaper and magazine articles citing Mount Holyoke in the past year represent a combined circulation of more than 170 million.
  • The College increased its financial aid support for study abroad from 37 percent of aid applications funded in 1997 to 85 percent in 2000.
  • Mount Holyoke recorded the largest applicant pool in its history for the class of 2004. This year 2,614 high school seniors competed for admission to the College, representing an increase of 22 percent since 1998.
  • The College achieved its goal of 2,600 applications for admission three years ahead of schedule.
