MHC Offers Spots to Displaced Students
Mount Holyoke
will offer visiting-student status to academically qualified
undergraduates whose college or university enrollment
has been negatively affected by Hurricane Katrina, according to
Jane B. Brown, vice president for enrollment and college relations.
At the same time, the College is exploring the possibility of offering
a limited number of displaced students residential status, despite
being at near-full capacity on campus.
In addition, the College,
with significant numbers of alumnae and students in affected
areas, is posting updates about its efforts
to ascertain the safety of alumnae, students, and students' families,
as well as to assist with relief efforts at www.mtholyoke.edu/offices/comm/
news/katrina.shtml.
Anyone with
information about possible housing for displaced students
or Mount Holyoke families displaced by the storm, or about the status of students
in affected areas, is urged to contact Nancy Larson, assistant to the dean of
the College, at 413-538-2481 or nlarson@mtholyoke.edu.
For more information about enrollment at Mount Holyoke, please
contact the registrar, Monica Augustin, at 413-538-2025.
