Lyons Network to Host Conference on Global Finance

On September 24, Mount Holyoke will host over 300 women undergraduates from 50 of the leading northeastern colleges and universities at a conference on life, careers, and leadership in global finance. The event is being organized by the Lyons Network, a group of women professionals and students founded at MHC and dedicated to advancing the opportunities for women’s leadership and career success across different industries. It will provide an opportunity for students to meet finance professionals, expand their networks, and learn about various areas of finance and career opportunities.

The conference will feature global leaders as keynote speakers: Richard Weingarten, executive secretary of the U.N. Capital Development Fund; Audrey McNiff '80, global co-head of foreign exchange and derivatives, prime brokerage, at Goldman Sachs; and Sally E. Durdan '81, executive vice president of finance at JPMorgan. Women leaders in diverse areas of finance will participate in four panel discussions: micro finance and global economic development; investment banking and corporate banking; capital markets, sales, trading, and research; and investment management. The day will also include networking receptions, a career fair, and a question-and-answer session with company representatives.

Students will have the opportunity to meet with leaders, company representatives, and recruiters from the leading global financial services firms that have sponsored the conference. Conference sponsors are: ABN Amro, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan (Gold Sponsors), Merrill Lynch (Silver Sponsors), Barclays Capital, Bear Stearns, UBS, and 85 Broads (Bronze Sponsors).

The conference is open to undergraduate women only. Admission is $15 for Five College students, $10 for Mount Holyoke students hosting a non-Five College student, and $20 for non-Five College students. For more information about the conference, go to: New England Undergraduate Women's Conference in Global Finance.
