In Our Own Backyard I: Skinner State Park Gini Traub, Regional Interpreter, will take us back to the early days of Mount Holyoke College and describe the students' connection to the mountain, then and now. Well-known in the region, Ms. Traub has many old images to share, and many stories about the habits and habitats of the two Mount Holyokes. Sponsored by MHCs Center for Environmental Literacy. |

The Forest AND the Trees: A Visit to the Harvard Forest with John O'Keefe, Fisher Museum Coordinator. The Fisher Museum's gorgeous dioramas are captured on slides, and Mr. O'Keefe will use these to give us a guided tour through the centuries, explaining New England forest succession. He will also describe how the Forest is "used" every day in current research projects, with some hints at fresh opportunities for students of all ages. Sponsored by MHCs Center for Environmental Literacy. |
