Lyons Network to Host Conference on Global
Finance
at Mount Holyoke College
Keynote speakers include Richard Weingarten, executive secretary
of the U.N. Capital Development Fund; Audrey McNiff '80, global
co-head of foreign exchange and derivatives, prime brokerage, at
Goldman Sachs; and Sally E. Durdan '81, executive vice president
of finance at JPMorgan
On
September 24, Mount Holyoke will host more than 300 women undergraduates
from 50 of the leading northeastern colleges and universities at
a conference on life, careers, and leadership in global finance.
The event is being organized by the Lyons Network, a group of women
professionals and students founded at MHC and dedicated to advancing
the opportunities for women’s leadership and career success
across different industries. It will provide an opportunity for
students to meet finance professionals, expand their networks,
and learn about various areas of finance and career opportunities.
The conference will feature global leaders as keynote speakers:
Richard Weingarten, executive secretary of the U.N. Capital Development
Fund; Audrey McNiff '80, global co-head of foreign exchange and
derivatives, prime brokerage, at Goldman Sachs; and Sally E. Durdan
'81, executive vice president of finance at JPMorgan. Women leaders
in diverse areas of finance will participate in four panel discussions:
micro finance and global economic development; investment banking
and corporate banking; capital markets, sales, trading, and research;
and investment management. The day will also include networking
receptions, a career fair, and a question-and-answer session.
Students will have the opportunity to meet with leaders, company
representatives, and recruiters from the leading global financial
services firms that have sponsored the conference. Conference sponsors
are: ABN Amro, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan (Gold Sponsors), Merrill
Lynch (Silver Sponsor), Barclays Capital, Bear Stearns, UBS, and
85 Broads (Bronze Sponsors).
The conference is open to undergraduate women only. Admission is
$15 for Five College students, $10 for Mount Holyoke students hosting
a non-Five College student, and $20 for non-Five College students.
