Individual Therapy Group Therapy Psychiatric Evaluation & Medication Management Consultation Outreach
Individual Therapy We provide short term individual therapy, up to eight sessions per academic year. In these sessions, you and your therapist work together to discuss your concerns and goals. College can be a challenging time and it may help to talk with a professional who can help you identify your stressors and take steps toward feeling healthy again.
Group Therapy We offer a variety of topic-focused groups for students, designed to reflect the interests and needs of the MHC student community. Past groups have focused on relationship issues, eating/body image issues, and coming out issues. Group therapy can be a safe place to talk with others who are experiencing similar difficulties and can help you feel supported and understood.
Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management When needed, psychiatric consultation is available to determine whether medication could be beneficial. Typically, students in distress first try to improve their symptoms in therapy. If it seems that medication could be of additional benefit, you can discuss the option of a psychiatric evaluation with your therapist.
Consultation Counseling Service clinicians regularly provide consultation to students and other members of the MHC community who have concerns about someone who is important to them. This consultation can be on a one-time basis or on-going, as needed.
Outreach Our outreach program represents our commitment to reach out proactively to MHC students. We provide psychoeducational programs and workshops on a variety of mental health topics, based on the needs of the campus community.
