Call for Proposals

Proposal Application Form (pdf)

All members of the community are invited to submit proposals for funding from the Inclusiveness Initiatives Fund. In its September 2005 report, the Presidential Commission on Diverse Community recommended that such a fund be established to generate and support a variety of initiatives designed to enhance “the role diversity plays in our work environment, our community, and especially in the curricular and co-curricular dimensions of our students’ education.” The Commission’s report is available online.

Process:

Proposals will be reviewed once each semester by the Multi-Cultural Community and College Life Committee. Students, staff, and faculty may submit proposals. We encourage proposals that emerge from or will work across multiple perspectives. While proposals are customarily for projects or events to take place the following semester or academic year, we also invite proposals with multi-year timelines. Deadlines for proposals are November 28, 2007 and April 29, 2008.

We will also consider, on a rolling basis, proposals that request support for smaller-scale or short-range projects. Application forms are available here. Typical proposals have been funded between $300 and $3,000. See grant awards for projects that have been funded in previous years.

Send proposals to:
Chair of MCCL
c/o Dean of the College Office
202 Mary Lyon Hall

The Inclusiveness Initiatives Fund is made possible with the support of the Office of the President, the Office of the Dean of the College, the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, and the Mount Holyoke College Alumnae Association.
