IIF Grant Awards
MCCL reviews proposals once each fall and spring to distribute the annual funds sponsored by the Office of the President and the Dean of the College.

IIF grants awarded in 2006-2007:
For its late-fall, 2006 round of funding from the Inclusiveness Initiatives Fund the MCCL received 19 proposals for a total of $44,598. The requests were for projects that will take place in Spring, 2007 (or in one case in Fall, 2007). It was able to fund 16 of them for a total of $17,220.
Making Class Visible Award $800 Debbora Battaglia, Anthropology J-Term course drawing on literature from visual anthropology, cultural studies, and film studies; will include a production component oriented toward an interview-based video and a coordinated publicity campaign
The Yuval Ron Ensemble Award $1500 Madeeha Channah '08 The Yuval Ron Ensemble: a night of multi-cultural and multi-faith song, story and dance with a vision of alleviating social, religious and cultural misunderstanding
Discovering Faith Award $570 Madeeha Channah '08 Discovering Faith fostering a deeper understanding of the services and rituals performed by different faith traditions, by visiting sacred places of worship for each faith tradition
African Caribbean Day Award $1000 Solange Cox '08 One time booster support of annual cultural heritage month by MHACASA
Hosting Dorothy Allison - Award $1500 Simone Weil Davis, English Support of visit to the Five Colleges from author Dorothy Allison and visit to Simone Weil Davis' spring 2007 course, which will be populated with a combination of incarcerated women and Five College students, “Inside-Out in Hampden County: Crisis and Transcendence”
Women’s Environmental Leadership: Promoting Diversity in the Environmental Professions Award $2350 Giovannia DiChiro, Earth and Environment Panel showcases the rise of a new generation of environmental leadership characterized by diversity, innovation, collaboration, and effective communications in identifying and solving environmental problems
Learning from Within Award $300 Amelia Ender, Leslie Fraser, Eliot House An introduction to contemplative writing and movement to awaken awareness of self and others
Mount Holyoke Queer Students and Alumnae Conference Award $1,000 Chenaimwoyo Gondo Conference to bring together current MHC students, alumnae, and five college students in a day of networking, education, empowerment and entertainment
SuDance Award $1500 Natasha Hunter '07 A socially conscious dance concert & collaborative community event to call attention to the present attrocities in Sudan and the related deeply rooted issues of racism, classism, and sexism in our world
Robin Roberts Book Tour Award $1000 Tiffany Quash, Physical Education Fund to bring Robin Roberts to campus as part of the “As Women of Color We Can: Be Healthy, Be Strong, Be One
The Global and the Intimate: Gender Studies in the Present Crisis of Citizenship Award $2000 Mary Renda Keynote event and keynote lecture (Angela Davis) and conversations with students in conjunction with conference on gender studies and citizenship.
