Gladys G. Moore

In July of 2007 Gladys Moore joined the Mount Holyoke community as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion. Moore's passion and comittment to the work of building a more fully realized diverse community with a rich understanding of social justice rises from lived experiences of systemic oppression and of being a change agent in various institutions.
Educated in the Philadelphia area, Gladys has a B.S. in Elementary Education from West Chester State University; and M.Ed from Temple University, and a M.Div. from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. She brings to this work a deep love of the human family, a passion for justice, a good sense of humor, 23 years of experience in urban ministry, leadership in faith-based community organizing and significant anti-racism training and small group facilitation.
In addition to her work as Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Gladys is also the Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life. She is a song-writer and guitarist and enjoys building community through the gift of music.
