Leader Application

Please note that we have completed our application process.  If you are interested in being a leader at this point, please contact the office at x2550 and your name will be placed on a waitlist.  Thank you for your interest.

Deadline To Apply:  Friday, April 3, 2009, 5:00 pm

The General Orientation Leader position is a volunteer position. As a leader you would be working closely with the General Orientation Board and in conjunction with the Office of the Dean of Students.

To be a leader you need to be willing to be present and available to assist with all facets of orientation all day, every day prior to and during Fall Orientation. You will be allowed to return to campus on Monday, August 31st and your commitment will begin that night and continue through Thursday, September 10th. Please keep in mind that residential life positions (Hall President, Student Advisor), as well as athletics, and dining services managerial positions will conflict with this commitment.

One of your key responsibilities will be leading a small group of new students who live in a combination of two or three Residence Halls throughout the course of fall orientation. Your small group will meet multiple times during the orientation process and you will be expected to be a guide, mentor, and resource to the students in your group.
