Pre-Orientation: "Promoting InterCultural Dialogue and Creating Inclusion"

General Details

  • There are no additional fees for participation in this pre-orientation program.  Tuition, room and board are paid by Mount Holyoke.
  • Participants are obligated to attend all programs and workshops.
  • International students will arrive one day earlier (on Wednesday, September 2nd) so that they are able to complete immigration-related paperwork and rest from long travel before the pre-orientation program begins.  International students have received information about airport pick-ups in their acceptance letters.
  • Spaces for U.S. students of color, multiracial students, and white students are limited.  U.S. students accepted for this program will arrive on Thursday, September 3rd.  You must provide your own transportation to the pre-orientation program.
  • All pre-orientation students will be assigned to their permanent residence hall upon arrival.
  • Please note that the pre-orientation schedule is designed to be challenging and rewarding and will require your full energies.  You will have ample time to completely unpack and organize your room on Sunday, September 6th, the move-in day for all new students.
  • All interested students should submit an "Interest Questionnaire" (found on the pre-orientation website) as soon as possible, but no later than June 15th.
  • Programming for parents and families of pre-orientation participants, featuring an overview of campus resources, will take place on Thursday, September 3rd.
  • The pre-orientation program will conclude on Saturday night, September 5th.
  • New Student Orientation will begin the next morning on September 6th.
