Daily Logs February 2007

Below is a listing of all incidents and accidents reported to the Mount Holyoke College Department of Public Safety. Each listing includes the date and time of the report, a description of the incident or accident which includes the location of the event, and a case number and case status. These are provided for the education of the community, as well as to satisfy the requirements of the Federal Right to Know law. Please feel free to call Public Safety at x2304 (or (413) 538-2304) if you have any questions about incidents occurring on campus.
 
 
NOTE: This log reflects only incidents reported to Public Safety that occurred on the Mount Holyoke College campus. Incidents involving our students off campus are reflected in the logs of the investigating department.

February 25 and March 3:

Incident #07-68-OF: Incident number not assigned.

On March 2 at 8:59am an employee reported receiving annoying telephone calls at Clapp Hall (Incident #07-67-OF). Case Open.

On March 2 at 12:01am officers responded to Wilder Hall for a report of a disturbance in a room. When they arrived, they spoke with the resident of the room who reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend. Arrested for Domestic Assault & Battery was (Incident #07-5-AR):

On March 1 at 7:44pm officers received a report of an assault and battery that occurred on February 24 in a residence hall on campus. The victim was given options available to her and is considering those options (Incident #07-66-OF). Case Open.

On February 28 at 8:06am officers responded to the area of Ham Hall for a report of a bicyclist who had fallen. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-65-OF).

On February 26 at 5:31pm officers responded to the Art Building to assist an employee who was not feeling well. He was assessed and declined further medical attention (Incident #07-63-OF).

February 18 and February 24:

On February 24 at 3:00am a student reported her iPOD and IBM computer was stolen from her room in Mead Hall; the victim believes guests who were in her room may have taken the items (Incident #07-62-OF). Case Open.

On February 24 at 1:45am officers responded to Blanchard Hall for a report a disturbance. When they arrived the found two males who were had been arguing. They were advised to leave campus (Incident #07-61-OF).

On February 24 at 3:36am officers and the EMTs responded to Blanchard Hall for for a report of an intoxicated guest. He was evaluated and released (Incident #07-60-OF).

On February 23 at 10:56pm a student came to Public Safety to report another student contacting her. Both students may not contact one another (Incident #07-59-OF).

On February 22 at 12:57pm officers responded to a complaint about a swastika on Upper Lake made by footprints in the snow. (Incident # 07-58-OF). Case Open.

On February 21 at 10:22pm officers were dispatched to Abbey Chapel to assist a student who had injured her ankle. She was evaluated and was transported to the health center (Incident #07-57-OF).

On February 20 at 9:15pm a student came to Public Safety to report another student making threatening comments (Incident #07-56-OF).

Incident #07-55-OF: Incident not assigned

On February 20 at 6:25pm officers responded to Reese Hall to assist an employee who was not feeling well; he was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-54-OF).

On February 20 at 9:30am officers responded to Pearsons Hall to assist a student who had injured her ankle. She was evaluated and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-53-OF).

On February 19 at 9:23am officers were asked to check on the well-being of a student at the request of a family member. Officers were able to determine she was at an off-campus event and returned to campus shortly thereafter (Incident #07-52-OF). Case Closed.

On February 18 at 3:36am officers responded to Pearsons Hall to assist a student who was ill. She was evaluated and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (07-51-OF).

On February 18 at 2:10am a student reported her digital camera was stolen from her jacket during an event in Mary Woolley Hall (Incident #07-50-OF). Case Open.

On February 18 at 2:05am a student reported that her cell phone was stolen from her jacket during an event in Mary Woolley Hall. The next morning, the cell phone was found and was turned into Public Safety (Incident #07-49-OF). Case Closed.

On February 18 at 1:28am officers and the EMTs assessed a student who had slipped on ice. She was provided with first aid (Incident #07-48-OF).

On February 18 at 12:22am officers and the EMTs responded to Mary Woolley Hall for a report of an intoxicated student. She was evaluated and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-47-OF).

On February 18 at 12:10am officers and the EMTs responded to Mary Woolley Hall for a report of an intoxicated student. She was evaluated and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-46-OF).

February 11 and February 17:

On February 17 at 11:02pm officers and the EMTs responded to Ham Hall for a report of an intoxicated male guest. He was evaluated and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-45-OF).

On February 17 at 1:17pm a student reported that another student looking for a parking space backed into her vehicle, causing minor damage to both vehicles (Incident #07-7-AC).

On February 16 at 10:22pm officers received a report that a student may have marijuana in her room; none was found and the case was referred to the Deans (Incident #07-64-OF). Case Referred to the Deans.

On February 16 at 3:10pm officers received a report of threats made by one member of the community toward another earlier that day (Incident #07-44-OF). Case Open.

On February 16 at 2:18am officers responded to Buckland Hall for a report of a student who was intoxicated. She was assessed and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-43-OF).

On February 14 at 7:43pm officers responded to 1837 Hall to check on the well-being of a student; she was located and appeared to be fine. Officers advised the reporting party (Incident #07-42-OF). Case Closed.

On February 13 at 11:06pm officers and the EMTs responded to Pearsons Hall to assist a student who was not feeling well. She was assessed and refused further care (Incident #07-41-OF).

On February 13 at 11:16am a student reported her coat was stolen from outside the dining hall at Prospect Hall on February 12 during lunch (Incident #07-40-OF). Case Open.

On February 11 at 11:20am officers responded to the Equestrian Center for a report of a rider who fell from a horse. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-39-OF).

February 4 and February 10:

On February 10 at 1:41am officers and the EMTs responded to Blanchard Hall to assist a student who had injured her ankle. She was rendered first aid and declined further immediate medical assistance and was referred to the Health Center (Incident #07-38-OF).

On February 8 at 10:04am officers received a report of annoying messages being left for a student by someone she knows (Incident #07-37-OF). Case Open.

On February 7 at 8:03pm a student reported some jewelry was stolen from her room, or during transit from overseas at the end of January Term (Incident #07-36-OF). Case Open.

Incident #07-35-OF: Late case re-assignment; see below.

On February 7 at 1:22pm officers responded to the Library for a report of an intoxicated male who broke a bottle in front of the building. The individual, who was not a student or employee of the college, was located. He was trespassed from campus, and Facilities Management staff cleaned up the broken glass (Incident #07-34-OF). Case Open.

On February 6 at 10:20pm the department received a third party sexual assault report. The assault occurred on campus involving a victim who is not a member of the community and a perpetrator known to the victim (Incident #07-35-OF). Case Open.

On February 5 at 2:30pm officers responded to Mary Lyon Hall to assist an employee who was not feeling well; she was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-33-OF).

On February 5 at 8:18am a student reported that her laptop was stolen from a friend's room in Dickinson Hall on February 5 (Incident #07-32-OF). Case Open.

On February 4 at 8:34am an employee reported that her vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle while it was parked in front of North Rockefeller Hall on February 1. There was damage to the driver's side of the parked vehicle (Incident #07-6-AC).

On February 4 at 12:22pm officers responded to Buckland Hall for a report of a student who was not feeling well. She was assessed and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-31-OF).

On February 4 at 9:25am officers and the South Hadley Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the Library. The alarm was believed to have been caused by steam (Incident #07-30-OF).

On February 4 at 7:04am officers responded to North Mandelle Hall for a report of a student who was ill. She was assessed and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-29-OF).

On February 4 at 3:16am officers responded to South Rockefeller Hall for a report of three males causing a disturbance. When they arrived the found three males who were intoxicated and had been arguing. They were trespassed from campus (Incident #07-28-OF). Case Closed.

Incident #07-27-OF: Incident not assigned (written as 07-28-OF, above).

January 28 and February 3:

On February 1 at 5:11pm officers responded to the Equestrian Center to assist a rider who fell from a horse. She was assessed and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-26-OF).

On February 1 at 2:05am officers responded to Brigham Hall to assist a student who was not feeling well. She was evaluated and transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-25-OF).

On January 31 at 9:39pm officers received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Gateway Road near the Main Gate. A driver backing out of a parking space struck a vehicle whose operator was picking up a passenger causing minor damage to both vehicles (Incident #07-5-AC).

On January 31 at 11:00am a student reported that her cell phone may have been stolen since January 28 (Incident #07-24-OF). Case Open.

On January 30 at 11:31pm officers and the EMTs responded to Blanchard Hall to assist a student who had fainted. She was assessed and was transported to the Health Center (Incident #07-23-OF).

On January 30 at 8:02am officers responded to the area of Porter Hall for a report of an accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was assessed and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-4-AC).

On January 29 at 12:47pm officers received a report that an employee had been threatened by a family member. Officers are working with a local police department to assist the victim (Incident #07-22-OF).

On January 29 at 12:01am a student reported that her vehicle was by another vehicle since 6:00pm while it was parked in the Gorse Parking Lot, causing minor damage to her vehicle (Incident #07-3-AC).

On January 28 at 7:03pm officers responded to the Mandelles/1837 Parking Lot for a report of a vehicle hitting another vehicle. A driver was backing into a parking space and struck a parked car, causing damage to both vehicles in the area of their bumpers (Incident #07-2-AC).

On January 28 at 1:42pm officers responded to a report of individuals possibly smoking marijuana outside North Mandelle Hall. Officers located the individuals, some of whom are current students. Officers confiscated a glass pipe and a green leafy substance which field tested positive for marijuana (Incident #07-21-OF). Case Referred to the Deans (for the current Mount Holyoke College students).

On January 28 at 12:16pm officers responded to outside Torrey Hall for a report of an injured employee. She was assessed and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-20-OF).

On January 28 at 12:59am a student reported that her wallet was stolen from her coat while it was left unattended outside a room in Abbey Hall between 10:20pm on January 27 and 1:00am (Incident #07-19-OF). Case Open.
