Logs April 2007
- Below is
a listing of all incidents and accidents reported to the Mount
Holyoke College Department of Public Safety. Each listing includes
the date and time of the report, a description of the incident
or accident which includes the location of the event, and a case
number and case status. These are provided for the education of
the community, as well as to satisfy the requirements of the Federal
Right to Know law. Please feel free to call Public Safety at x2304

occurring on campus.

- NOTE:
This log reflects only incidents reported to Public Safety that
occurred on the Mount Holyoke College campus. Incidents involving
our students off campus are reflected in the logs of the investigating
department.
April
22 and April 28:
On April 28
at 1:40pm officers received complaints about some youths in Kendade
Hall who were being disruptive, were attempting to gain access to
the snack area and were viewing pornography on college computers
in the building. Officers were able to find the youths and they
were spoken to and trespassed from campus (Incident #07-142-OF).
Case Open.
On April 28
at 11:56am officers responded to the Greenhouse to assist who had
fallen and was injured. She was transported to the Health Center
for treatment (Incident #07-141-OF).
On April 28
at 11:04am a student reported that a male guest of another student
looked into her shower stall while she was showering. The male guest
was interviewed and denied looking at the student. He was trespassed
from campus (Incident #07-140-OF). Case Open.
On April 28
at 10:11am officers responded the area of Ham Hall to assist a student
who had fallen and was injured. She was transported to the Health
Center for treatment (Incident #07-139-OF).
On April 28
at 12:53am officers and the EMTs met with a student at the Central
Services Building who had injured her eye. She was taken by a friend
to the hospital for evaluation (Incident #07-138-OF).
On April 28
at 12:03am officers and the EMTs responded to Ham Hall to assist
a student who was ill. She was evaluated and declined further medical
attention (Incident #07-137-OF).
On April 27
at 11:14am officers received a report that a vehicle was parked
on newly-seeded lawn. Officers called for a tow truck to remove
the vehicle (Incident #07-136-OF). Case Closed.
On April 25
at 9:55am officers responded to Skinner Hall to assist an employee
who fell. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident
#07-135-OF).
On April 26
at 9:53am officers were asked check on the well-being of a student
in 1837 Hall. She was transported to the Health Center (Incident
#07-134-OF).
On April 26
at 9:03am officers received a report that a telephone was stolen
from the bell desk at South Mandelle Hall (Incident #07-133-OF).
Case Open.
On April 24
at 7:19pm officers responded to the area of Clapp Hall for a report
of a loose dog. The dog then nipped at the hand of one of the responding
officers. The owner of the dog was located and the dog was returned
to the owner who was asked to restrain the dog (Incident #07-132-OF).
Case Closed.
On April 24
at 6:30pm officers responded to Prospect Hall to assist a student
who injured her foot. She was transported to the Health Center for
treatment (Incident #07-131-OF).
On April 23
at 6:23pm an employee reported that her vehicle was struck by another
unknown vehicle while it was parked on Minden Place (Incident #07-11-AC).
On April 23
at 7:06pm a student in Buckland Hall reported receiving annoying
telephone messages from a former acquaintance (Incident #07-130-OF).
Case Open.
On April 23
at 8:30am an employee reported it appeared someone had broken into
a storage area in the basement of Wilder Hall. The room was found
unlocked and there were alcohol bottles in the room (Incident #07-129-OF).

Update for 07-119-OF: A laptop reported
stolen from outside Brigham Hall was found by another student and
was returned to the reporting party. Case Closed.
On April 22
at 7:03pm a student reported that her bicycle was stolen from the
bicycle rack outside Porter Hall since noon that day. The student
later located her bicycle (Incident #07-128-OF). Case Closed.
On April 22
at 2:47pm a student reported that her bicycle was stolen from the
bike rack outside North Mandelle Hall since 5:00pm on April 21.
She later found the bicycle in front of Porter Hall (Incident #07-127-OF).
Case Closed.
On April 22
at 1:15pm a student reported that an id case containing her One
Card and other cards was stolen from a couch in the Library when
she had left her belonging for a few minutes. She later found the
case as well as the items inside near the printers in that area,
and found that $6-$7 was debited from the One Card (Incident #07-126-OF).

April
15 and April 21:
On April 21
at 9:25pm officers responded to the Rooke Lab Theatre Building to
assist a student who was not feeling well. She was assessed and
declined further medical assistance (Incident #07-125-OF).
On April 21
at 2:01am officers and the EMTs responded to Torrey Hall for a report
of a student not feeling well. She was assessed and declined further
medical assistance (Incident #07-124-OF).
On April 20
at 10:53pm officers and the EMTs responded to 1837 Hall to assist
a student who had cut her finger. First aid was rendered, and she
was referred to the Health Center for follow-up (Incident #07-123-OF).
On April 20
at 11:11am a student reported that she was assaulted by another
student on April 5. The victim was injured but did not seek medical
attention. The victim currently does not wish to press charges against
her assailant. (Incident #07-122-OF). Case Closed pending any further
action requested on the part of the victim.
On April 19
at 8:35pm officers responded to the area of Mary Woolley Hall to
assist a student who was not feeling well. She
was assessed and was transported to the hospital by ambulance
(Incident #07-121-OF).
On April 19
at 7:31pm officers responded to the area of Torrey Hall to assist
a student who was injured. She was assessed and told to follow-up
with the health center if pain persisted (Incident #07-120-OF).
On
April 18 at 8:52pm a student reported that her laptop was stolen
from outside Brigham Hall (Incident #07-119-OF). Case Closed (laptop
returned).
On April 18
at 2:30pm a student reported that her bicycle was missing from outside
of Abbey Hall. The bicycle was recovered outside Skinner Hall (Incident
#07-118-OF). Case Closed.
On April 18
at 9:15am an employee reported that several items have been stolen
from her office along with her computer being utilized without permission
(Incident #07-117-OF). Case Open
On April 16
at 2:37pm officers received a report that a vehicle struck a pole
in Gorse Lot (Incident #07-10-AC).
On April 15
at 8:54pm a student reported that the SIM card was stolen from her
cell phone while it was misplaced during an event at Blanchard Hall
(Incident #07-116-OF). Case Open.
On April 15
at 7:07pm officers and the EMTs responded to Abbey Chapel to assist
a student who had fainted. After first aid was rendered, the student
declined further medical attention (Incident #07-115-OF).
April
8 and April 14:
On
April 13 at 6:46pm an employee reported that his vehicle was scraped
while it was parked near the Central Services Complex (Incident
#07-114-OF).

On April 13
at 4:27pm a student reported she is getting annoying telephone calls
and text messages from a former acquaintance. The student was given
options available to her, and she is considering which might be
most beneficial to her (Incident #07-112-OF). Case Open.

Update 07-110-OF: The bicycle reported
stolen from Porter Hall was found at Blanchard Hall. Case Closed.
On April 10
at 12:03am officers responded to North Rockefeller Hall for a report
of an altercation in a room. Officers spoke with the occupants of
the room who reported the altercation was verbal only (Incident
#07-111-OF). Case Open.
On
April 9 at 10:53am a student reported that her bicycle was stolen
from the outside rack at Porter Hall. The bicycle was unlocked when
it was last seen on April 7 (Incident #07-110-OF). Case Open.
On April 9 at
5:13am officers did a well-being for a student who had minor abrasions
to her wrists (Incident #07-109-OF). Case Referred to Health Services.
On April 8 at
2:24pm a student reported that her laptop was stolen from Prospect
Hall earlier that day (Incident #07-108-OF). Case Open.
On April 8 at
12:25pm a student reported that her purse and cell phone were stolen
during an event in Blanchard Hall early that morning (Incident #07-107-OF).
Case Open.
On April 8 at
7:40am officers received a report that a window pane in the front
door of Pearsons Hall was broken. It appeared that an object had
caused the damage. Facilities Management was notified of the damage
(Incident #07-106-OF). Case Open.
On April 8 at
3:40am officers responded to a room in Wilder Hall for a noise complaint.
Hall staff reported that the occupants were not reducing their noise
level following their requests. Officers spoke with the occupants
(Incident #07-105-OF). Referred to the Deans.
On April 8 at
12:28am officers
received a report of an intoxicated student at Pearsons Hall. She
was assessed and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident
#07-104-OF).
On April 8 at
1:21am a student reported that her iPod and One Card was stolen
at an event in Blanchard Hall between 12:45am and 1:00 am (Incident
#07-103-OF). Case Open.
On April 8 at
12:37am officers received a report of an intoxicated student at
Blanchard Hall. She was assessed and was transported to the hospital
by ambulance (Incident #07-102-OF).
April
1 and April 7:
On April 6 at
2:25am officers received a report of an intoxicated student near
the Library. She was assessed and was transported to the hospital
by ambulance (Incident #07-101-OF).
Case
Update: 07-93-OF: The
bicycle reported stolen from Ham Hall was found at Cleveland Hall.
Case Closed.
On April 3 at
12:46pm officers checking the Outing Club cabin on Skinner Mountain
found evidence that someone had tried to gain access to the building.
Nothing inside the cabin appeared to be missing (Incident #07-100-OF).
Case Open.

On April 1 at
7:54pm officers and the EMTs responded to North Mandelle Hall to
assist a student who was not feeling well. She was evaluated and
was transported to the Health Center (Incident #07-98-OF).
On April 1 at
12:26am officers and the EMTs responded to Blanchard Hall to assist
a student who was intoxicated. She was evaluated and refused to
cooperate with medical personnel on scene. She was placed into protective
custody (Incident #07-7-AR). Case Closed.
