Daily Logs August 2007

Below is a listing of all incidents and accidents reported to the Mount Holyoke College Department of Public Safety. Each listing includes the date and time of the report, a description of the incident or accident which includes the location of the event, and a case number and case status. These are provided for the education of the community, as well as to satisfy the requirements of the Federal Right to Know law. Please feel free to call Public Safety at x2304 (or (413) 538-2304) if you have any questions about incidents occurring on campus.
 
 
NOTE: This log reflects only incidents reported to Public Safety that occurred on the Mount Holyoke College campus. Incidents involving our students off campus are reflected in the logs of the investigating department.

August 26 and September 1:

On September 1 at 11:18am officers responded to Prospect Hall to assist a student who was not feeling well. She was evaluated and declined further medical treatment (Incident #07-219-OF).

On September 1 at 9:25am officers responded to Blanchard Hall to assist a student who injured her ankle. First Aid was rendered and she was advised to seek further medical care if needed (Incident #07-218-OF).

On August 28 at 10:28pm officers responded to Porter Hall for a report of smoke outside the building. When they arrived, they found a small fire in some mulch. The Fire Department was notified and responded to extinguish the fire. The Fire Department determined disposed cigarette materials may have caused the fire (Incident #07-217-OF).

August 19 and August 25:

On August 25 at 8:47pm officers responded to 1837 Hall to assist a student who was injured; she was rendered First Aid and advised to seek further medical treatment if needed (Incident #07-216-OF).

On August 24 at 3:15pm officers responded to 1837 Hall to assist a student who was injured; she was rendered First Aid and advised to seek further medical treatment if needed (Incident #07-215-OF).

On August 22 at 12:15pm a vehicle backing from a parking space in the Equestrian Center Parking Lot struck an employees vehicle in a near by parking space (Incident #07-15-AC).

On August 22 at 10:16am officers responded to the area around the Equestrian Center for a report of individuals who have trespassed and left belongings in the area (Incident #07-214-OF). Case Open.

On August 20 at 11:12pm officers responded to the area of Blanchard Hall for a report of a vehicle operating recklessly around campus. The vehicle had since left campus and information was turned over to SHPD (Incident #07-213-OF).

On August 20 at 4:04pm an officer took a report of damage done to a vehicle outside of Shattuck Hall that occurred due to adverse weather (Incident #07-212-OF).

August 12 and August 18:

On August 15 at 5:13pm an employee reported that her vehicle was struck while it was parked in the Porter Parking lot (Incident #07-18-AC). Case Open.

August 5 and August 11:

On August 6 at 1:07pm officers responded to Ham Hall to assist a camp attendee who was injured. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-211-OF).

July 29 and August 4:

On August 2 at 12:51pm an employee reported that research equipment in the vicinity of Lower Lake appeared to have been tampered with, though no permanent damage was done to the equipment (Incident #07-210-OF). Case Open.

On August 2 at 9:37am officers responded to Kendall Hall to assist a summer conference attendee who was injured. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-209-OF).

On July 30 at 11:46am an employee reported that he struck a post with a college vehicle, causing a crease in a door and damage to the bumper (Incident #07-17-AC).
