- Below is
a listing of all incidents and accidents reported to the Mount
Holyoke College Department of Public Safety. Each listing includes
the date and time of the report, a description of the incident
or accident which includes the location of the event, and a case
number and case status. These are provided for the education of
the community, as well as to satisfy the requirements of the Federal
Right to Know law. Please feel free to call Public Safety at x2304

occurring on campus.

This log reflects only incidents reported to Public Safety that
occurred on the Mount Holyoke College campus. Incidents involving
our students off campus are reflected in the logs of the investigating
department.
November
25 and December 1:
Incident #07-385-OF:
Incident Not Assigned.
On December
1 at 2:22am officers responded to the area near Shattuck Hall for
a report of a woman who was sleeping in her carl. They found the
woman, who reported she had become lost and fell asleep. Her license
to operate the vehicle was revoked and her vehicle had to be towed.
A taxi was summoned to transport the woman home (Incident #07-384-OF).
On December
1 at 1:18am officers evaluated a male guest who was intoxicated.
He was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-383-OF).
On November
30 at 7:40pm officers and the EMTs responded to Blanchard Hall to
assist a student who was injured. She was transported to the Health
Center (Incident #07-382-OF).
On November
29 at 5:51am officers on patrol noticed sleeping in a vehicle in
the Mead parking lot and who appeared to be intoxicated. Ambulance
personnel assessed the woman and concurred. She refused to be transported
to the hospital and was placed into protective custody. After resisting
efforts, she was placed under arrest for being a disorderly person
and resisting arrest (Incident #07-20-AR). Arrested was:

On November
26 at 11:14pm officers responded to Abbey Hall to assist a student
who was not feeling well. She was transported to the hospital by
ambulance (Incident #07-381-OF).

On November
26 at 11:22am an employee reported an emergency phone at Dickinson
Hall was knocked off its post. It appears the damage may have been
caused by a motor vehicle striking the phone. Technicians were requested
for repair of the emergency phone (Incident #07-379-OF). Case Open.
On November
25 at 7:08pm a student reported being assaulted by an acquaintance
at Torrey Hall. Officers are working with the student to assist
her with options available to her (Incident #07-378-OF). Case Open.

Update: On November 23 officers recovered bicycles
previously reported stolen. Owners were notified and the following
cases were closed: 07-332-OF, 07-337-OF,
07-343-OF.
On November
21 at 8:01pm officers received information that a laptop computer
stolen from a common area of MacGregor Hall (see incident #07-355-OF
below; case now Closed) was in use on the fifth
floor of the building. When officers arrived to the area, they heard
a male voice from a room. They later entered the room and found
a male hiding in a closet with the laptop. He was arrested for Larceny
Over $250 (Incident #07-19-AR). Arrested was:

On November
20 at 8:07pm a student reported she was involved in an e-mail scam.
(Incident #07-376-OF). Case Open.
On November
20 at 12:30pm officers responded to Prospect Hall to
assist a student who had a head injury. She was transported to the
Health Center (Incident #07-375-OF).
On November
19 at 9:06pm officers responded to 1837 Hall for a complaint about
an odor of marijuana as well as underage alcohol consumption. Officers
did not detect any odor indicate marijuana was currently in use,
but the occupants of the room did have alcohol in the room originally
attributed to an of-age occupant. Officers later learned that it
was in the control of an underage occupant (Incident #07-374-OF).

On November
19 at 9:21am an employee reported his car was broken into in the
Torrey parking lot between 8:00am and 9:30am. An empty laptop case
was stolen from the vehicle and nothing else appeared to have been
touched. Access was gained by prying the window away from the frame
of the vehicle (Incident #07-373-OF). Case Open.
On November
19 at 2:50am officers were asked to check on the well being of a
student. She was found and was transported to the hospital by ambulance
(Incident #07-372-OF).
On November
18 at 9:32am officers did a well being check on a student at the
request of family members who had not heard from her. She was reached
and was fine; she was asked to contact her family (Incident #07-371-OF).
On November
18 at 12:21am officers on patrol noticed a visitor who was ill.
He was assessed by the EMTs and was transported to the hospital
by ambulance (Incident #07-370-OF).

On November
17 at 3:25am a male who was trespassed and warned an additional
time to leave campus returned to Abbey Hall. He was then arrested
for violation of a trespass notice (Incident #07-18-AR). Arrested
was:
On November
17 2:37am officers responded to Abbey Hall for a report of a suspicious
person. They found a male fitting the description supplied who claimed
to be a guest of a student who got locked out. Officers contacted
the student, who reported he was not with her. He was trespassed
from campus (Incident #07-368-OF). Case Closed.
On November
17 at 1:01am a student in North Rockefeller Hall reported she had
been assaulted by another student (Incident #07-367-OF). Case Open.
On November
16 at 5:48pm a student in Porter Hall reported a jacket was stolen
from her room some time in the past day (Incident #07-366-OF). Case
Open.
On November
15 at 8:03am officers on patrol found a parking sign was uprooted
and on the ground. Facilities Management staff were notified (Incident
#07-365-OF). Case Open.
On November
14 at 9:23pm officers and the EMTs responded to 1837 Hall to assess
a student who was transported to the Health Center (Incident #07-364-OF).
On November
14 at 12:51am officers on patrol noticed two males ducking near
a car on Lower Lake Road. The males were spoken to and said they
were coming on campus to skateboard. They were advised of the college's
policy against skateboarding, and left. They returned to another
lot later and were again asked to leave and did leave campus (Incident
#07-363-OF). Case Closed.
On November
13 at 3:12pm a student reported that her bicycle was stolen from
the bicycle rack in front of Mead Hall since October 21 (Incident
#07-362-OF). Case Open.
On November
13 at 12:37pm a student reported an issue with another student.
The reporting party was given options available to her (Incident
#07-361-OF). Referred to the Deans.

On November
12 at 9:25pm officers responded to Kendall Hall to assist a student
who was not feeling well. She was transported to the hospital by
ambulance (Incident #07-359-OF).
On November
12 at 3:36pm a student reported someone attempted to break into
her car through its soft top while it was parked in the Gorse Parking
Lot between November 9 and November 12 (Incident #07-358-OF). Case
Open.
On November
12 at 1:16am officers assisted a student at Brigham Hall; she was
assessed and was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident
#07-357-OF).
On November
11 at 11:17pm officers responded to the Library for a report of
a suspicious male who stated he was visiting the area and wanted
to know where he could get drugs. The male left the area before
officers arrived (Incident #07-356-OF). Case Open.
On November
11 at 8:10pm officers received a report of a suspicious male in
Blanchard Hall. The male who was disheveled and appeared to have
been drinking had been trespassed from campus earlier in the year
and was placed under arrest for violation of the trespass notice
(Incident #07-17-AR). Arrested was:

November 11 at 3:19pm a student reported that her laptop computer
was stolen from the common area of MacGregor Hall when left unattended
for approximately 15 minutes. Two other students entered the room
before the victim's return and report that they did not see anyone
else in the area (Incident #07-355-OF). Case Closed.
On November
11 at 1:05am officers were asked to check on the well-being of a
student on campus. She was located and determined to be fine (Incident
#07-354-OF).

On November
10 at 1:00am officers received a report that a student had received
communications from a male against whom she had an active restraining
order. Officers are summoning the individual for the violation of
that order (Incident #07-352-OF). Case Open.
On November
10 at 12:18am officers were called to Blanchard Hall for a report
of an intoxicated student. She was assessed, and determined to be
in need of care due to her level of intoxication. During the assessment,
the student became combative with officers and refused care. She
was placed into protective custody until her level of intoxication
dropped enough to allow her to be released (Incident #07-351-OF,
07-16-AR).
On November
10 at 12:38am a student came into the Public Safety office in Central
Services who had been injured on campus. She was transported to
the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-350-OF).
On November
9 at 1:24pm a student reported money was stolen from her pocketbook
while it was left in a hallway at Gorse School on October 31 (Incident
#07-349-OF). Case Open.
On November
9 at 1:25am a student reported her credit and debit card were stolen
from her wallet some time since November 5. The wallet was left
in the desk in her room in Prospect Hall during that time (Incident
#07-348-OF). Case Open.
On November
8 at 7:46pm officers responded to Clapp Hall for a fire alarm. The
cause was determined to be a beaker of wax and the fire was extinguished
(Incident #07-347-OF).
On November
8 at 4:53pm a student reported someone stole a GPS from her vehicle
between November 4 and November 7 while it was parked in the Gorse
Parking Lot. There was no forced entry evident, and nothing else
was removed from the vehicle (Incident #07-346-OF). Case Open.
On November
8 at 8:04am officers responded to Pearsons Hall to assist a student
who was injured. She was assessed and was transported to the hospital
by ambulance (Incident #07-345-OF).

November 7 at 7:38pm officers received a report that a student's
one card was stolen and used to make purchases on campus. The card
was then deactivated and replaced (Incident #07-360-OF). Case Open.
On
November 7 at 3:31pm a student reported her bicycle was stolen from
the basement of 1837 Hall. The bicycle was secured (Incident #07-343-OF).

On November
5 at 11:31am officers responded to Brigham Hall for an injured student.
She was transported to the Health Center (Incident #07-342-OF).
On November
5 at 9:45am officers responded to the Upper Lake area to assist
a student who was not feeling well. She was transported to the Health
Center (Incident #07-341-OF).
On November
5 at 8:10am an employee reported finding inappropriate postings
in Mary Woolley Hall. The postings were removed (Incident #07-340-OF).

On November
4 at 1:34am officers responded to Brigham Hall for a report of a
loud altercation. One of the parties was transported to the hospital
by ambulance (Incident #07-339-OF).

28 and November 3:
On November
3 at 3:54pm an employee at the Gorse School reported money and gift
cards were stolen from her pocketbook during the day on October
31 (Incident #07-338-OF). Case Open.
On
November 2 at 1:15am a student reported her bicycle was stolen within
the past ten minutes from the bicycle rack in front of Pearsons
Hall. The bicycle was not secured to the rack (Incident #07-337-OF).

On October 31
at 9:43pm a student in MacGregor Hall reported receiving two annoying
phone calls from an unknown person, one of which contained a threat
(Incident #07-336-OF). Case Open.
On October 31
at 7:28pm officers and the EMTs responded to Blanchard Hall for
a report of a student who was intoxicated. She was assessed and
was transported to the hospital by ambulance (Incident #07-335-OF).
On November
30 at 11:38pm officers and the EMTs responded to Safford Hall to
assist a student who was injured. First Aid was rendered and the
student was referred to the Health Center for further care (Incident
#07-334-OF).
On October 30
at 11:09pm officers responded to Pearsons Hall for a report of a
student who was ill. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance
(Incident #07-333-OF).
On
October 30 at 3:11pm a student reported her bicycle was stolen from
in front of Ham Hall between October 24 and October 28. It was last
seen unlocked outside the building (Incident #07-332-OF). Case Open.
On October 30
at 3:04am a college vehicle struck a railing while backing up (Incident
#07-28-AC).
On October 28
at 11:29pm officers responded to Prospect Hall to assist a student
who was not feeling well. She was transported to the hospital by
ambulance (Incident #07-331-OF). Case Open.

at 4:18pm a student reported that she was sexually assaulted by
a male around 2:00am in the woods on the hill between Prospect and
1837 Halls (Incident #07-330-OF). Case Open. Please see alert online.

at 12:40pm a student reported that cash was stolen from her room
in Pearsons Hall (Incident #07-329-OF). Case Open.
On October 28
at 1:31am officers and the EMTs responded to Pearsons Hall to assist
a student who was ill. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance
(Incident #07-328-OF).
On October 28
at 1:13am officers and the EMTs responded to Pearsons Hall to assist
a student who was injured. She was transported to the hospital by
ambulance (Incident #07-327-OF).
On October 28
at 1:07am officers and the EMTs received a report of an intoxicated
guest at Pearsons Hall. She was assessed and was determined to need
no further medical attention (Incident #07-326-OF).
