     Other Initiatives
    • Facilities Management is providing compact fluorescent light bulbs in every residence hall for student use.
    • Facilities Management is installing occupancy sensors across the campus. 
    • Religious Life is composting all of their food waste from Passover meals.
    • Human Resources' partnership with Ener-G-Save to promote home energy audits.
    • LITS double-sided printing campaign for student printing areas.
    • LITS encouraging centralized purchasing to lower costs and purchase more from known sustainable vendors.
    • Public Safety promotes anti-idling for fleet vehicles.
    • President's Office and Dining Services promoting "green" community breakfasts.
    • Student Financial Services starting "on-line" invoicing this year.
    • Alumnae Quarterly magazine changed campus distribution reducing the number of magazines printed.
    • Auxiliary Services publicize the availability of the Ecological Mail Coalition service to reduce the college's undeliverable junk mail.
    • Residential Life/Environmental Health & Safety will work with residence halls to make Eco-liaisons elected positions in each hall in Fall 2009.
    • Capital Projects Committee/Facilities Management will evaluate the greenhouse gas impact of all capital projects.
    • Dining Services makes commencement box snacks 100% compostable.
    • Residential Life is promoting Energy Star refrigerators by promoting rentals to help students.
    • Dining Services provides reusable baskets and compostable basket liners in Blanchard reducing the use of disposable paper products. .
    • Communications is working with environmentally minded print vendors who are FSC certified and dedicated to reducing a project's environmental impact. They use vegetable-based inks, non-toxic digital toners and choose paper that has a high level of post-consumer waste content that is manufacturered using better bleaching solutions.
    • Communications is producing smaller, shorter print projects whenever possible and is educating the public about green practices by including information on print projects such as the FSC logo, paper manufacturer, and recycled content. 
    • Admissions and Frances Perkins Office have installed a dishwasher eliminating use of paper plates, cups and plastic bottles.
    • Art Museum has colored ink cartridges refilled and reuses mat board and cardboard during prep work.
    • Conference & Event Services worked with LITS to create an on-line "campus space request form". Also, multiple weekly reports are sent via email rather than being printed, this alone is a savings of approximately 150 pages per week.
