Programs & Services

Counseling
Counseling services are available while the College is in session, from the time students arrive in the fall until graduation. Counseling services are not available during Thanksgiving recess, Winter recess, J-Jerm or March break.

Individual counseling and psychoeducational groups are available for students who maybe experiencing problems with alcohol or other drugs or are in recovery; those who have concerns about a significant other, or who feel they have been affected by another's drinking or drug use.

Three-session Mandatory Assessment
Services are provided to students referred by the Associate Dean of Students Office, who have violated the Mount Holyoke College Alcohol and Other Drug Policies.

Support Services
Counselor facilitated groups provide an opportunity to meet others in recovery and explore recovery related issues for those affected by their own use or others use of alcohol or other drugs. Peer support groups, run by and for students, are available to support one another in dealing with concerns about use and recovery.

ADAP Groups

Alumnae Network
This Network of recovering alumnae, coordinated by The Project Director, provides support for members of the college community who are exploring issues related to chemical dependency. It also brings together alumnae with professional interest in alcohol and other drug issues, who act as resources to the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Project.

Education
The Project sponsors a wide range of workshops and trainings for students and staff; campus-wide events such as speakers, panel presentations, and theater performances; and the development and distribution of current print and web-based materials. Educational materials include books, periodicals, videotapes, audio tapes, and pamphlets.

Educational Interventions are provided to offer support and information to individuals and concerned others related to an alcohol or other drug incident.

Mandatory Education sessions are provided to students referred by the Assistant Directors from Residential Life, who have violated the Mount Holyoke College Alcohol and Other Drug Policies.
