Did you Know? 94% of all completed rapes, 91% of all attempted rapes, 89% of all completed and attempted sexual assaults between 1992 and 2003 were against female victims. Simple assaults account for 75% (or 1.3 million victims) of the crimes committed against people while working. Aggravated assaults account for 19% of workplace violence, "Bureau of Justice Statistics 2001 violence in the workplace"

Ongoing Events:
December 9- Knitting Group: meets every Friday at noon in Blanchard at the lounge or on the patio if the weather is nice. This is a chance for faculty/staff to get together, knit, share projects and ideas, and learn from each other, limit to 8, contact: Kathleen Norton or Judy Allen.

December 12 - Book Club: meets once a month in Mary Lyon Hall, room 105 from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m., contact: Mary Heyer, December 12 discussion on“Last Days of Dogtown” by Anita Diamant.

Watch for future events to be scheduled through the winter and spring, some will include:

January 23 and January 25: Self-Defense-Kubotan Classes: 4-hour course, $5.00 charge for key chain, by Barbara Arrighi, Associate Director of Public Safety, Location: Kendall Hall, Dance Studio 2. (Note: Kubotan Classes on January 23 will meet from 12 noon - 2 p.m. and on January 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

March - Flower Arrangements, by Ellen M. Shukis, Director, Botanic Gardens/Talcott Greenhouse.

April - Equestrian Center Tour, by Paula Pierce, Director of Equestrian Center.
