What should the Employer Expect?

Once a lost time claim has been filed and the First Report of Injury received by CCMSI, the employer can expect to receive a phone call to verify the factual information contained on the First Report of Injury. This will normally take place within two (2) working days of receipt of the First Report at the CCMSI office. Within that time period, an employer should have had the opportunity to follow up with the injured employee to determine the extent of the injury.

If the claim involves lost time and a wage statement has not been filed with the First Report of Injury, one will be requested at that time. In the event of extended lost time, the employer can expect a visit from a CCMSI consultant. The purpose of that visit is to investigate the facts of the accident and to assist the employer in the future management of the claim.
