Writing Skills
Mount Holyoke will press you to develop your writing skills. Whether working on in-class essays, personal journaling, critiques of articles, or the all-out research paper, you will need to focus on both the process of your writing, as well as the content. An exceptional resource is the Speaking, Arguing, and Writing Program located in Porter Hall. A specific help may be to view the writing process as an idea process first. Many students sit down at the computer and expect to write a ten-page paper in the same way as a two-page reaction paper. No way. The 4 P's of Problem Solving Papers can help you see the process instead of just the outcome.
