Scope and Content:
These records contain Catalogs of the College (1837-), Programs for
New Students (1930-), Summer Session Bulletins (1942-44), Weekly
Bulletins (1905-1922), Weekly Calendars (1932-1987), College Street
Journals (1987-), A Memorandum Society Ledger (1886-1903), Catalogs
of Teachers and Pupils (1837-45 and 1857-67), College Directories
(1892, 1896, 1902-), Directories for the College published by the
Debating Society (1917-28, 1929-32), Course of Instructions
(1908-64), and issues of Prerogative (1970-72).
Early issues of the Catalogs of the College include a list of all students, teachers, and trustees, terms for admission, a course of study, tuition information, and a calendar. Later issues also include descriptions of all courses offered at Mount Holyoke.
The Programs for New Students contain information regarding First Years' Orientation, academics, and advice in selecting courses.
The Summer Session Bulletins contain a list of courses, admission and registration information, and a calendar.
The Weekly Bulletins and Calendars contain information on prayer meetings and college services, athletic events, lectures, and other college activities.
The College Street Journal provides information on local and world news, job opportunities for students, and a weekly calendar.
The Memorandum Society Ledger contains a list of all faculty members, and a catalogue of students along with their birthdate and place, and parents names and residence.
The Catalogs of Teachers and Pupils contain names and towns of residence for all faculty and students.
The College Directories provide home and college addresses for all faculty, staff, and students.
The Courses of Instruction provide a listing of all courses offered, along with requirements for a major in each department.
The Pregrogative provides course evaluations to aid students in choosing courses.
