Letter to Senior and Families
March 2009
Dear Senior and families:
We have included, on this Web site, information regarding the Commencement weekend schedule, weekend menus, an online form to order meal tickets (send check separately), and a form for special ticket requests or needs (PDF). We are sending seniors the same information knowing that because of distance some students will make arrangements for their families. If you need assistance, please contact the Commencement Office at 413-538-2663 or email Penny Silveira.
As the week before Commencement will be very hectic, we have created a handbook (available later; check back) that will answer the most frequently asked questions that departments on campus receive during that week. It will have answers about keys, tickets, seating, meals, and anything else we can think of that you might want to know that week.
One important decision that you and your families need to make at this point is what meals you will take on campus. Senior meals are free, but we must know how many other meals will be served. The Commencement Committee and Dining Services have worked very hard to create great menus for that weekend. To avoid the frustration of buying tickets for meals at the last minute, you should order meal tickets now.
Commencement and Baccalaureate tickets are distributed to seniors Thursday, Friday and Saturday of Commencement weekend. Seniors will receive specific information regarding tickets with the information they will receive in April. In order to make the seating process flow smoothly on Sunday morning of Commencement, please take a moment prior to Sunday to stop in the Amphitheater and locate which gate you should enter and where your seats are.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Sincerely, Penny Silveira Commencement Office
