Housing Lottery Instructions

 

1. Login into the lottery website by using the following website https://www.mtholyoke.edu/lottery/

2. Click "login" and enter your MHC user name and password. 

3. You are now logged in and at your Lottery HOME PAGE

Proxy: for students who need to assign a proxy

• Enter student name and press enter (if enter doesn't work click "search" button).  Click on student name to make her your proxy.  OR
• Click on the first letter of the student's last name.  Then click on the students name from the list of names to make her your proxy.
• If you decide you don't want this student you can remove her by hitting the "remove button"
  
  

4. Moving Groups:  Students only need to create a moving group if there are 2 or more students moving together.  Students moving alone do not have to create a moving group.  Two ROOMMATES WHO WANT TO MOVE TOGETHER MUST CREATE A MOVING GROUP. 

Creating a moving group

• Enter Group name and password and hit create
• Remember to share the password with members of your moving group.  The Office of Residential Life will not give out moving group names or passwords. Remember only ONE member needs to create the group.

Join a moving group

• Type in the name of the group or click on the letter of the name of the group
• Click on a group name to join
• Enter Password and click join

Please note that group name and password are case sensitive. Once you join or create a group you can not be removed from the group.

5. Number choosing:  Leaders of moving groups and students moving alone must choose a hall choosing number.  All students must choose a room choosing number.  If a student does not choose a room choosing number the Office of Residential Life will automatically assign students a number. 

Hall Choosing Number:  Click Hall Choosing.  If you are moving with a group and are the leader it will ask you to verify the members of the group.  (If there is a problem with the group DO NOT choose a hall choosing number.  Contact the Office of Residential Life immediately.)  If ok click "Verify"

• Choose which way you wish to choose your number.  The First one brings you to the fish bowl to choose your number the second way just chooses your number automatically.  Your number will come up automatically and update your home page and it will apply the number to all members of  your moving group if you are moving in a group.
• If you are a junior moving in a senior group or Student Manager it will ask you if you wish to choose a Junior Hall choosing number to try for a single.

6.   Log Out: Click the "logout" to exit the system once you have finished.
